Description
What we’re building and why we’re building it.
Fetch helps people live rewarded every day, with a vision to become the rewards destination for everyone. We turn everyday activities into meaningful rewards, whether it’s grocery shopping, grabbing a quick meal, or playing a favorite mobile game. To date, we’ve awarded more than $1 billion in Fetch Points to our users.
Each day, more than 13 million receipts are submitted on Fetch, providing visibility into over $212 billion in gross merchandise value. This creates the largest retail-agnostic, SKU-level view of household spending, powering Fetch as an outcomes-based advertising platform that helps brands acquire and retain lifelong consumers.
The Fetch app is available on the App Store and Google Play, with more than 6 million five-star reviews from a highly engaged and loyal user base.
It’s not just our users who believe in Fetch: with investments from Softbank, ICONIQ, DST, Greycroft, and partnerships ranging from challenger brands to Fortune 500 companies, Fetch is reshaping how brands and consumers connect in the marketplace. When you work at Fetch, you play a vital role in a platform that drives brand loyalty and creates lifelong consumers with the power of Fetch points. User and partner success are at the heart of everything we do, and we extend that same commitment to our employees.
At Fetch, we value curiosity, adaptability, and the confidence to explore new tools, especially AI, to drive smarter, faster work. You don’t need to be an expert, but you should be ready to learn quickly and think critically. We welcome learners who move fast, challenge the status quo, and shape what’s next, with us. Ranked as one of America’s Best Startup Employers by Forbes for two years in a row, Fetch fosters a people-first culture rooted in trust, accountability, and innovation. We encourage our employees to challenge ideas, think bigger, and always bring the fun to Fetch.
Meet Core Services - Labs
Core Services owns the systems the rest of Fetch builds on: developer experience, the core domains behind catalog, e-receipts, and fraud, and the AI platform work that is changing how the company operates. Our teams are small relative to the number of teams depending on what we ship, which shapes how we make decisions and where we hold a high bar.
Labs is the AI collective inside Core Services, spanning innovation, automation, and enablement. Our job is to make AI genuinely usable inside Fetch: agentic systems that do real work, the infrastructure those agents run on, and the products that put them in front of the people who need them. This role sits on the pack focused on agentic analytics.
The engineers here come from a mix of backgrounds — product and platform engineering, ML, and data. Deep AI experience is not a prerequisite for this role; strong product engineering judgment is, and there's real AI depth available to anyone who wants to grow into it. What we consistently care about is adoption.
About the role
You'll join the team that builds
FAST
, Fetch's internal AI analytics platform. FAST puts an analytics agent in front of business users so they can answer real data questions in plain language instead of waiting in a queue for an analyst. It's also a product that has to earn the trust of people who will not tolerate a wrong number.
This is a fullstack role centered on the product around the agent. You'll build and own new features, new integrations, and the services and interfaces that turn a capable agent into something people rely on day to day. The work spans the stack but leans towards backend.
We're a small team, and you'll own the features you ship. Engineers here upskill one another across domains, and AI-assisted workflows have made that ramp faster than it has ever been. You'll work alongside fullstack and ML engineers building a product that serves Fetch. Over time, and depending on where the platform goes, there's a path into the agent layer itself: evals, capability expansion, and the accuracy work that determines whether any of this succeeds.
This is a full-time role that can be held from one of our US offices or remotely in the United States.
What you’ll do at Fetch (Role Responsibilities):
Design, build, and ship product features across the FAST platform, with the majority of your work in Python services and APIs.
Own backend-dominant fullstack work end to end, including the Svelte frontend surfaces that expose it.
Build the data models, integrations, and service architecture that turn a working agent into a product people rely on.
Improve FAST's reliability, maintainability, and architecture.
Raise the bar on backend and product engineering craft within the team through code review, design discussion, and hands-on pairing.
Bring clear tradeoff thinking to design and architecture decisions, and turn ambiguous product needs into concrete implementation plans.
Improve how the team ships, including where AI-assisted workflows meaningfully improve quality and speed.
In your Toolbox (Minimum Requirements):
4+ years of hands-on fullstack engineering experience in a medium to large engineering environment.
Strong backend experience, ideally in Python.
Working experience with modern frontend development and the ability to contribute confidently to Svelte or a comparable framework.
Comfort owning work across the stack: product features, service integration, and the implementation details in between.
Solid grounding in distributed systems or systems-level engineering concepts.
Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain a tradeoff to someone who doesn't share your context.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and drive work to completion without every task assigned.
Track record of collaborating effectively across backend, frontend, and machine learning disciplines.
Interest in using AI tools and agentic workflows to improve engineering speed, quality, and maintainability.
Nice to haves/Bonus Points (Preferred Requirements):
Experience building real-time or near-time OLAP applications
Production experience with Svelte, or with another TypeScript framework.
Experience building products on top of LLMs or agentic systems.
Exposure to data, analytics, BI, or experimentation tooling.
Experience with Go.
Experience on teams that balance product delivery against platform evolution.
