Oracle APEX and PL/SQL Database Developer

BT-385 - Oracle APEX and PL/SQL Database Developer Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (fully on-site, no remote option) **MUST HAVE A TS/SCI POLY CLEARANCE TO APPLY. Those without a TS/SCI Poly clearance will not be considered.** Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Oracle APEX / PL/SQL Developer with 5+ years of professional software development experience to design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise web applications built on Oracle technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Oracle APEX, Oracle SQL, and PL/SQL , combined with front-end development expertise using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3 . The developer will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and database administrators to translate business requirements into secure, scalable, maintainable, and user-friendly applications. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications using Oracle APEX . Develop complex database functionality using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL , including packages, procedures, functions, triggers, views, and dynamic SQL. Build responsive and intuitive APEX user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery . Customize Oracle APEX components, including Interactive Grids, Interactive Reports, forms, Dynamic Actions, LOVs, validations, processes, and shared components. Implement client-side functionality using JavaScript, jQuery, and Oracle APEX JavaScript APIs. Develop and integrate RESTful services and APIs with Oracle APEX applications. Integrate APEX applications with external systems and data sources. Design efficient SQL queries and optimize application and database performance. Troubleshoot and resolve application, PL/SQL, JavaScript, and database-related issues. Implement application security using APEX authentication and authorization schemes, session-state protection, access controls, and secure coding practices. Participate in requirements gathering, technical design, code reviews, testing, and production deployments. Develop reusable APEX components and establish development standards and best practices. Maintain technical documentation for applications, database objects, integrations, and deployment procedures. Provide ongoing production support, debugging, maintenance, and application enhancements. Qualifications: Managing/Senior Principal Consultant designs and implements individual components of the Oracle products based on area of expertise. Analyzes detailed requirements and develops detailed design for a specific Oracle product or technology. Provides implementation services for a specific product to include extensions and additional configurations necessary to implement client unique business processes and workflows. Performs routine health checks and optimizations of system performance, availability, access controls and security. Performs system optimization, performance tuning and assists in capacity planning. Performs proactive analysis of potential issues, risks and roadblocks during system implementation and operations. 5+ years of professional software development experience , with significant hands-on development using Oracle technologies. Strong hands-on experience developing applications with Oracle APEX . Advanced knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL . Experience developing PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other database objects. Strong experience with JavaScript and jQuery , particularly within Oracle APEX applications. Proficiency with HTML5 and CSS3 , including responsive web application development. Experience customizing Oracle APEX Universal Theme and application user interfaces. Experience with APEX Dynamic Actions and client-side/server-side processing. Experience developing and customizing Interactive Reports and Interactive Grids. Understanding of AJAX-based processing and communication between APEX pages and PL/SQL. Experience consuming or developing REST APIs / RESTful Web Services . Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data modeling, and SQL performance optimization. Experience troubleshooting applications using browser developer tools and Oracle APEX debugging capabilities. Understanding of application security and secure software development practices. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a development team. Preferred Qualifications Experience with recent versions of Oracle APEX, including APEX 24.x . Experience with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) . Experience integrating Oracle APEX with external enterprise applications and data sources. Experience working with JSON, REST services, and AJAX. Knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning and query optimization. Experience with Git or other source-control systems. Experience with CI/CD and automated deployment processes for Oracle database and APEX applications. Familiarity with accessibility and responsive UI/UX development standards. Experience supporting enterprise or critical Oracle APEX applications.
