The Software Engineer is responsible for the design and development of software applications and reusable
software components for the Cotiviti Inc product suite, in compliance with predefined coding standards and technical
design. This person will collaborate effectively and work with Senior Developers, QA, Product Owners, Project
Management, and other stake holders. Cotiviti develops highly innovative applications in healthcare analytics to
generate performance, improvement opportunities and value for our clients.
Responsibilities
Design
and
develop
high
quality,
maintainable
software
modules
for
the
Cotiviti,
Inc.
product
s
uite.
Conduct
unit
and
integration
testing
using
appropriate
methodology
and
techniques.
Analyze
requirements
and
specifications
and
create
detailed
designs
for
implementation.
Analyze
and
resolve
software
related
issues
originated
from
internal
or
external
customers.
Continuously
update
professional
knowledge
of
new
technologies
as
selected
and
integrated
into
the Cotiviti, Inc. product suite.
Change
control
management.
Enter,
transcribe,
record,
store
and
maintain
information
in
both
written
and electronic form.
Review
software
engineering
approach
to
proposed
solutions
to
ensure
adherence
to
best
practice.
Mentor
team
members
in
proper
software
engineering
methods
and
techniques.
Complete
all
responsibilities
as
outlined
in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
Complete
all
special
projects
and
other
duties
as
assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience.
Optimization and tuning of SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers.
2-3 years' experience with languages: Java or Python.
2-3 years' experience with 3rd party platforms: Appian, Cloudera Hadoop.
2-3 years' experience with databases: Microsoft SQL Server, HBASE, Hive.
Strong knowledge and application of
SAFe
agile practices, preferred.
Proficiency working with large data sets.
3+ years of experience with enterprise and application design patterns that are applied on Java platform.
3+ years of experience with JDK technologies such as
Rule authoring: Ability to write, test and maintain business rules using platform such as DRL for Drools.
Familiarity with rules versioning and use of rules development patterns such as decision tables.
Demonstrate solid understanding of optimization in rules execution for efficiency and scalability.
Integration skills with experience in integrating business rules with databases such as mongoDB and oracle.
3+ years' experience writing unit test cases for rules and its outcome using tools such as Junit.
1+ year experience of Spring Boot and the Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, etc.).
Additional skills required
Experience with RESTful services and APIs.
Familiarity with xml/json data formats.
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools.
3+ years of experience with platform engineering tools such as Bitbucket, Gradle, Octopus, Artifactory.
1+ year experience with platforms that orchestrate containers such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.

Must be able to provide a dedicated, secure work area.
Must be able to provide high-speed internet access / connectivity and office setup and maintenance.
Base compensation ranges from $91,000 to $129,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
