Java Developer l Location US-AZ-Phoenix ID 2026-4749 Category IT / Cyber Security / Network Systems Position Type Full-Time Remote No Clearance Required Public Trust (Tier 4) Overview The Java Developer I will assist in developing Java-based applications and data integration solutions while gaining hands-on experience in a high-volume, low-latency environment. This role will collaborate with senior team members and participate in all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC) to build scalable and reliable systems. Responsibilities Develop and maintain Java-based applications and TIBCO integrations in a high-volume, low-latency environment. Troubleshoot real-time system issues and provide timely support. Participate in all stages of the SDLC, including design, development, testing, and deployment. Implement unit tests and automated tests to ensure code quality. Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and standard design patterns. Work with web services, REST APIs, and technologies like XML, JSON, and HTML. Use version control tools (e.g., Git) and build tools (e.g., Ant, Maven, Gradle). Collaborate with teams to gather requirements and define business processes. Adhere to Agile methodologies and participate in team activities (e.g., sprints). Support software releases and contribute to continuous improvement processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science or related 0-2 years of hands-on experience in Java development As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. Knowledge of Java programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles. Familiarity with TIBCO systems or a strong willingness to learn. Exposure to web services (REST, XML, JSON) and web technologies like HTML. Experience with code versioning tools such as Git (academic or project work counts). Basic understanding of Agile methodologies (e.g., sprints, daily stand-ups). Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure (willingness to learn if no prior experience). Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and troubleshooting. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and follow guidance from senior developers. Eagerness to learn and grow with new technologies, tools, and best practices. Other: Must be able to pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust. This position may require the ability to operate a government vehicle. The incumbent must be at least 18 years of age, able to obtain and maintain Defensive Drivers certification and have a valid state driver’s license. Pay Transparency Statement AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $78,000.00/Yr. - USD $124,800/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
