Davidson Technologies is seeking a Software-Electrical Engineering Intern in Huntsville, Alabama.
Position Overview Davidson Technologies is seeking a motivated and technically curious Summer Intern to support our Engineering teams within a Department of Defense (DoD) contracting environment. This role provides hands-on exposure to the full development lifecycle of mission-critical systems, where software meets hardware. The ideal candidate will assist in designing, developing, testing, and integrating electronic components and software solutions used in advanced aerospace and defense applications.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the design, prototyping, and testing of electrical circuits and hardware components
Support the development, debugging, and optimization of software/firmware for embedded systems
Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and software design documents
Collaborate with senior engineers to implement feature enhancements and bug fixes in existing codebases
Support the integration of software modules with physical hardware components
Ensure all engineering activities adhere to strict DoD quality standards and safety regulations
Basic Qualifications
Fundamental understanding of circuit analysis, digital logic, and electronic components
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C, C++, Python, or Java)
Strong analytical and mathematical problem-solving skills
Ability to document technical work clearly and concisely
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PCB design software (e.g., Altium, KiCad, or Eagle)
Coursework or projects involving signal processing, control systems, or robotics
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
Interest in aerospace, missile defense, or avionics systems
