Description
Position Summary: nThe Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, and troubleshooting automation equipment for molding machine and secondary operations to achieve a fully integrated work cell and to follow procedures and embrace new technologies. nQualifications:nRequired:nnAbility to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organizationnBachelor\'s Degree in an Engineering disciplinenAbility to read mechanical drawings & electrical schematicsnKnowledge and troubleshooting skills of both mechanical & electrical systems nPC experience / 3D Modeling SoftwarenExperience working with industrial automationnDevelops preliminary engineering designs, and device specificationsnSelf-starter who works well with little supervisionnTeam player with a positive attitudennPreferred:nnExperience with Scara, 6-axis, and Cartesian robotsnWorking knowledge of plastic injection molding process and equipment nOmron PLC Programming experiencenVision systems programming nProficient with SolidWorks Design Software nResponsibilities:nnTreat all internal and external contacts with uncompromising respect and integrity under all circumstances. nConfer with Plant Manager to determine layout of equipment. nCreate and/or modify existing EOAT and automation equipment. nAssist engineering, quality assurance, maintenance and production with layouts and creating secondary equipment. nAssemble and operate equipment through trial run to verify set-up. nModify installed equipment to ensure compatibility with new units, or install safety devices or attachments to old units. nInterface equipment with molding machines to achieve an integrated work cell. nTroubleshoot electronic circuitry and read electrical schematics. nReplace damaged/defective components, purchase components and maintain inventory of spare parts to minimize lost production time. nProgram various PLC\'s & Vision systems nMake observations to reduce cycle time, improve efficiency and productivity. nPerform preventative maintenance on automation equipment and maintain records. nFollow company safety procedures to ensure your safety as well as the safety of others. nAttend team meetings to promote team building. nGeneral housekeeping to keep the work area and plant clean. nPerform other duties as assigned. nnn
