Description

The Conformity & Homologation Testing engineer is responsible for testing and supporting Stellantis vehicle regulatory range and fuel economy labels, performance testing, regulatory coastdown (CD) and CAFE/GHG reporting. We work closely with our Efficiency Synthesis Design partners of the Energy Management team within the Physical & Functional Design & Integration (PFDI) organization.   The role consists of a variety of vehicle-level testing and data collection that the engineer coordinates, processes, and analyzes. In-vehicle opportunities exist, but vehicle based testing is performed by union personnel. Emission dynamometers, straight-line performance and coastdown on a straightaway and oval track testing summarizes our different testing environments. We test and evaluate current and future company vehicle programs and competitive vehicles to support regulatory, development, benchmarking and target setting activities. Individual travel is limited, with the historical location being the Toyota Arizona Proving Grounds (TAPG) during Q1. Michigan winters take the department out west or down south where weather conditions allow for on-road testing. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university Minimum of 5+ years of vehicle powertrain testing/experience Working knowledge with hardware data acquisition systems. Good time management and organizational skills, chassis dyno emissions testing with good trouble-shooting, problem resolution and debugging skills.  Excellent communication skills, works well within teams, strong computer skills.  Vehicle level testing experience; will be working with a variety of groups and personalities.  Must be comfortable with working with product plan and 8+ month goal setting with milestones.   Preferred Qualifications: 8+ years of vehicle powertrain testing/experience. EPA related regulatory Emissions and/or Dyno Fuel Economy testing experience ICE, HEV and BEV vehicle level testing experience.  Prior experience with fuel economy regulations ETAS/INCA/CDA. Engine/trans calibration background Strong familiarity with software and programming experience is a PLUS
